•Trial commenced on 10.08.2021. •Recruitment status: Recruiting •Number assessed for eligibility: 536 •Number recruited and allocated/ randomized: 506 We initially planned to complete recruitment by 10th August 2022. However, due to the COVID pandemic, the clinic attendance of pregnant mothers diminished significantly. Therefore, it was decided by the supervisors during the progress meeting, to continue recruitment until the required sample size is reached. Interim data are currently being analysed. Planning to present the initial data analysis at the International Conference on Obesity, Melbourne, 17th -22nd October, organized by the World Obesity Federation.
