Mel Medura Treatment Approach (MTA): This multi-modal psychosocial treatment approach, which is available at Sumithrayo Mel Medura, Colombo, is characterised by transformation of the 'false' positive image of alcohol in the client as well as in others, assertiveness training, some features of cognitive behaviour therapy, motivational enhancement therapy, social networking and environment-based therapies and other novel introductions
Usual Treatment Approach (UTA): Patients will receive follow up appointments at clinic or Day Unit, medication if relevant and services (supportive therapy and motivational interviewing) from the multidisciplinary team.
