The intervention will be delivered via a number of methods during the duration of intervention delivery: i. Face-to-face health education sessions during the vaccination/weighing clinic visits for the baby ii. Giving the participants an information booklet titled “Managing Weight After Delivery” which the participants can use as a guide for healthy habits iii. Providing participants with exercise videos containing simple aerobic, muscle stretching and strengthening exercises which can be easily performed at home.

The Face-to-face health education will take place at 2, 3, 4 and 5 months following delivery, coinciding with the baby’s MOH clinic visits. The end of the intervention will be at 6 months.

At 2 months – • Start of the intervention. • Health education session on how to eat healthy based on Food Based Dietary Guidelines for Sri Lankans, and how to avoid unhealthy food. • Duration – 30 mins

At 3 months • Health education session on starting to exercise after delivery • Participants are asked to start with slow walking for 15 minutes and gradually increase speed and time • Demonstration of simple stretching exercises. • Duration -20 mins
